Arizona Renaissance Festival

In Apache Junction, Arizona you will find a great weekend activity. Held from February to April each year is the delightful Renaissance Faire by the Royal Faires group. If you have never been to a RenFest, then it may be difficult to imagine why one would want to go. However, just one visit and, like many others, you are likely to be hooked.

Arizona Renaissance Festival

The AZ RenFest is a great way to step back in time, without giving up the modern conveniences. You will be amazed by the authenticity of the costumes and buildings, amused by the shows and awed by the joust. As you meander through the Renaissance village of Fairhaven, you will find an assortment of vendors in period costume selling their wares that range from replicas of period jewelry, clothing, swords and archery items to beautifully carved gemstones and candles. There are wandering minstrels, court jesters, knights in shining armor, Lords and Ladies in gorgeous costumes as well as storytellers like Mother Goose and Twig the Fairy. Of course, for many the highlight of the day is the joust. After all, what’s not to love about cheering on your Knight as he charges towards an opponent, lance held at the ready and his shield ready to defend his life and his honor?

You will also find wide selection food choices. Whether it is Scotch eggs (hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage, then cooked till sausage is done), a ginormuous turkey leg, sandwiches, fish or chicken, and many other taste-bud tantalizers you are sure to find something to please your palate. Not only is the food great, but you will love the shows! There are comedy acts like the Nun show or Don Juan and Miguel, musicians and singers, rides and more all waiting to be enjoyed. So come to the Renaissance Festival -it’s a great place to visit—whether it’s you and the family, a date with someone new, or a solo trip, you are sure to have great time.
